About Moong Dal Khichdi
Moong Dal is Split Mung Beans or Split Green Gram.
Khichdi is a soft dish prepared with a combination of a lentil and rice.
Khichdi usually is advised for sick people who cannot digest heavy food and need soft nutritious food. Since it has dal khichdi is high in protein and energy because of the rice.
However, healthy people also have khichdi for a change and most of the time at least in Punjab, North India it is served with a good dollop of Desi Ghee enhancing its taste.
Dahi/yogurt as accompaniment to khichdi makes it a perfect and complete meal.
