About Dal Makhani
Dal Makhani is a traditional Punjabi dish and also called Maah Ki Dal. It is the most served dal at homes, parties or weddings.
It is a smooth dal that literally melts in your mouth. Though it is heavy to digest it is the most popular of the Indian dals and probably the most delicious as well.
The creaminess of the dal comes from the milk cream/butter that is liberally added to it while cooking. It is made from a combination of black lentils and red kidney beans.
One can have this dal with roti, paratha or rice. In fact, this dal tastes all the more better the next day.
