About DheuDheu (so called in Punjabi) is a fruit belonging to the tree Artocarpus lakucha. Raw dheu has traditionally been used to make pickle in Punjab. It is also used to make a vegetable but most of the time raw dheu is pickled.
The ripe fruit is eaten as a fruit and has a orange yellow color. It resembles a custard apple fruit when cut though externally it looks unlike it. Among other names for dheu are badhal/barhal in hindi and Lakoocha/monkey fruit/monkey jack in English. Ingredients
