How To Make Gulkand - Rose Petal Jam Recipe
About GulkandGulkand is also known as rose petal jam, candied rose petals and rose petal jelly. It is one of the ingredients used in paan the Indian mouth freshener and digestive usually eaten after meals.
You can easily prepare gulkand at home with some fresh rose petals and sugar. Usually wild rose petals are used to make it but you can use pink petals of any hybrid rose which is mild smelling. If you have a few rose plants at home all the better. I have prepared this gulkand from the roses gathered from the 8-10 odd wild rose plants in my garden. How To Make Gulkand1. Take equal quantities of rose petals and sugar weight-wise.
2. In a bottle or jar arrange alternate layers of rose petals and sugar and close the cap tightly. 3. Expose the bottle to sunlight everyday until both combine and the mixture thickens. 4. Shake the bottle or stir the gulkand with a spoon everyday before keeping in the sun. 4. Use gulkand to make ice cream, milkshake, smoothies and more. |
