Instant Dosa Recipe - Kuttu Ka Dosa Recipe
About Instant DosaDosas are a type of thin pancakes and look somewhat like crepes. They are usually prepared from batter that is fermented. It is a South Indian dish which is normally prepared with and rice and urad dal. However, dosa can be prepared with a variety of flours like those of rice, semolina, kuttu, chestnut etc.
For this recipe we are using buckwheat flour and since this flour does not need any fermentation we can prepare the kuttu dosa immediately. This is an instant dosa recipe. Do check out the recipe video above to watch step by step demonstration of this recipe. Ingredients
How To Make Instant DosaStep 1: Preparing the dosa filling
1. Keep a pan on low heat and add 1-2 tbsp oil. When oil becomes warm put in the cumin seeds and mustard seeds and saute until they crackle. 2. Put in the curry leaves, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, and turmeric powder. Stir and cook for 1/2 a minute 3. Put in the mashed potatoes and mix well. Now add the cilantro and stir cook for 2-3 minutes. Then remove and keep aside Step 2: Preparing the dosa batter 1. To the kuttu flour add the salt and yogurt, and mix well. 2. Put water little by little and make a, little less than medium thick, flowing batter. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes. 3. Check the batter and thin it down if necessary. Step 3: Preparing the dosa 1. Keep dosa pan on medium heat. Clean the pan with a cut onion and then lightly grease with oil. 2. When the pan is hot pour a ladleful and half of batter on it and spread it around in a circular motion. 3. Now spread about a tbsp of oil around on the dosa and let it cook until the underside is a bit brown. 4. Flip the dosa and repeat the process as in step 3 but do not brown this side, just cook until done. 5. While the dosa is cooking divide the filling into 4-5 equal portions and now put a portion of the filling in the center of the dosa. Fold the sides of the dosa over the filling. The dosa is done. 6. Remove to a plate and prepare all the dosas similarly. 7. Serve the kuttu ka dosa with coconut chutney or any other chutney or sauce you like. |
