About Lauki Wali Chane Ki Dal
Dals are pulses or lentils and except some all dals in India are prepared in a wet form with a dalia (porridge) like consistency. Regional differences do exist in consistency however.
Split beans too are considered as dals when cooked but the whole seeds including the skin of any bean is cooked in dal form it is known by its actual name and is not termed a dal eg kale chane (black chickpeas), kabuli chane (white chickpeas) etc.
Lauki Wali Chane ki Dal is a dal that is prepared by adding lauki (chopped bottlegourd) to chana dal (split & skinless black chickpeas) and spices.
