About Gujarati Lauki TheplaThepla is an inherent part of the traditional Gujarati cuisine and is especially popular among Jains. It can be enjoyed as a breakfast or mealtime dish or as a late afternoon healthy snack with tea. Great as a healthy option for your kids' tiffin.
Theplas are in fact much like the Punjabi parathas except that they are much thinner and softer as yogurt is incorporated in the dough. They can be made plain or with a variety of veggies like fresh methi/fenugreek leaves, kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves, palak/spinach and more though traditional Gujarati cuisine prepares them plain, with methi and lauki.
